Scanning photo albums and scrapbooks requires special techniques and skills by trained professionals.
Our white gloved CareTouch™ team treat your materials gently and carefully following guidelines prescribed by the National Archives and genealogical best practices.
D3Memories uses special scanners and processes to handle bound items while carefully preserving their structural integrity. Detailed attention and care is taken while removing pages and photos, scanning, and then restoring photos and pages to the albums.
D3Memories specialists document the photo layout of each page for proper restoration before they disassemble, scan, and reassemble the albums. Photos are returned back in their original position within the album.
All photos are scanned at 600 DPI and KODAK PICTURE PERFECT™ auto-enhancement is applied to enhance the color, contrast, and brightness an each photo.
Both sides of photos can be scanned for comments or dates if the photos can be removed from the album page.
Scanned photos and slideshows are presented in sequential album page order so you can view the photos as though you were browsing through your real photo album from front to back.
If photos or album pages cannot be easily removed without causing possible damage (for example, sticky full-page laminations, glued-on prints, or fragile album pages), then our special large format flatbed scanners can scan full pages up to 12" x 18" (A3) and automatically identify and separate multiple photos per page into Individual photo files —without physically removing them from the album page.
If the bound photo album pages are fragile, D3Memories can apply reinforcement rings to protect the post holes on each album page and will replace worn or loose posts to strengthen the integrity of the album.
We offer DVDs that are ultra-high quality archival preservation media designed to last 100 years to ensure your photos last for future generations.
